Live Black Solider Fly Pupa
Live Black Solider Fly Pupa
Large larvae weight is .07 grams each or larger (averaged for count). When it comes to an efficient compost organism the BSFL are about the most efficient at eating/chewing 99% of what goes into the compost. The large pre-pupa (black and still moving, i.e. pupa = cocoon stage not moving) are still great for feeding at this stage and are also ready to pupate into becoming flies for breeding purposes. I also hear that the axolotl salamander like to eat the flies. Once the larva becomes a fly it lives for only eight days.
Large larvae are 5/8” and larger, minimum weight is .07 grams or higher. Average weight is .09 grams.
The shipping is already included in the price. We ship Larvae every Tuesday and Friday. If you are shipping to a PO box, do not select hold for pick up. There is an extra charge for the “hold for pick up” on small orders since this option requires priority mail.
Once the tracking says that your order is delivered or ready for pick up at the post office you will have 24 hours to report any problems with your order for your live guarantee.
If your local temperature forecast is below 40 degrees or above 80 degrees during the week when you place your order it will be marked "hold for pickup" at the post office. If your weather forecast is above 95 your order will be cancelled. We ask that you wait for better weather.
If your weather forecast is below 30 degrees you must order a 72 heat pack or the order will be refunded. If your 7 day weather forecast is below 20 degrees during that time your order will be refunded. We ask that you wait for better weather.
